● Featured episodes

Three decisions

The problem, the insight, the call and what came of it.

Episode 01 · S02 · The IPA

The Call

The problem
End of financial year is when every organisation floods its donors' inboxes. In a digital channel, a donor can start to feel like a line in a database.
The insight
In a digital age, the scarce thing is a human voice. People keep supporting what they feel connected to.
The decision
We personally phoned every donor, big and small, to thank them for their support.
The result
Donors heard directly from the institute they fund and felt part of it. The campaign ran during a tenure in which donations grew by more than $1M.
Episode 02 · S04 · GMD Entertainment

The One-Person Studio

The problem
Serialized fiction lives or dies on a weekly release schedule and a consistent story. Six genres at that pace usually needs a writers' room.
The insight
The bottleneck isn't writing speed. It's keeping the canon straight across many story worlds.
The decision
Built a writing studio where AI is grounded in each world's canon, plus an automated pipeline from draft to scheduled release.
The result
40 episodes published across 19 series, with one person running the whole network.
Episode 03 · S04 · Psymetry

The Deal Engine

The problem
Investment teams see far more deals than they can properly assess, and the good ones get lost in the noise.
The insight
Consistent structure beats gut feel. Every deal should be screened the same way before anyone falls in love with it.
The decision
Built Psymetry, a proprietary platform that brings deal intake, structured scoring and market intelligence into one place.
The result
More than $500M in deals evaluated on the platform.

● How I lead

Manifesto

Eight rules I run creative and digital teams by.

01

Shipped beats pitched.

Ideas are cheap. Shipped ideas compound. Every concept I back gets a date, an owner and an audience.

02

Every experiment gets a kill date.

Creative freedom and commercial discipline sit on the same page. We decide up front what success looks like and when we stop.

03

Argue in the room. Commit outside it.

Debate is how good work gets better. Once the call is made, the team moves as one.

04

Taste is a strategy.

Differentiation doesn't come from a slide. It comes from a hundred small decisions made by people who care.

05

AI is crew. It still needs a director.

I use AI every day to write, build and produce. It makes small teams fast. Judgment and point of view stay human.

06

Hire people who scare you a little.

Independent thinkers make the best teams. My job is to give them room, clear briefs and cover.

07

Kill the approval ladder.

Collaboration without bureaucracy. Fewer sign-offs and more ownership, with accountability attached.

08

Stay a student.

The technology changes monthly. The leader who stops learning becomes the bottleneck.

“Think outside the box, just like Schrödinger's cat wished it could have.”

● The pilot episode

First 100 days

How a Chief Creative & Digital Officer earns the room.

Act I · Days 01–30

Listen map the truth

  • Audit every creative and digital touchpoint, from brand and content to platforms and data.
  • Sit with sales, product, operations and finance to see where attention and money actually move.
  • Meet the team one by one and find the people already doing the brave work.

Deliverable: a one-page map of what's working, what isn't and what we haven't tried.

Act II · Days 31–60

Pilot three small bets

  • Launch three experiments, each with an owner, a budget, a metric and a kill date.
  • Put an AI-assisted production workflow in place, with guardrails, so the team moves faster without losing its voice.
  • Ship something real to a real audience before day 60.

Deliverable: live results and a clear call on what to scale or stop.

Act III · Days 61–100

Scale build the engine

  • Set the operating model: small senior squads, sharp briefs and no approval ladders.
  • Stand up a dashboard that ties creative and digital work to commercial outcomes.
  • Take a 12-month creative and digital roadmap to the executive team and board.

Deliverable: a roadmap the board can fund and a team that wants to build it.

● Bonus feature

Off the clock

I don't have an off switch, and I've stopped looking for one. When the workday ends I'm drawing comic pages, inking character studies or filling the margins of an old novel with sketches. Then I'm writing the next episode or building the next thing. That creative energy runs seven days a week, and it's the same drive I bring to a team: more ideas than we need, the stamina to finish the best ones and the restlessness to make the next one better.
